Korpiklaani is a Finnish folk metal band originally founded by the singer Jonne Järvelä in 2003. The band is very popular also outside Finnish borders and is known for creating the best folk metal danceparty in the world. The band combines elements from Finnish folk music and metal, and the lyrics of the band are often related to ancient Finnish mythology. The themes for the songs rise for example from Kalevala. Korpiklaani has released all in all 9 full-lenght albums. The latest album ?Noita? was released in 2015. Amberian Dawn is a symphonic metal band from Finland and surely one of the most shining stars of this particular genre. Band was founded year 2006 and have released 7 albums so far. The 8th full-lenght album is currently in the making. Amberian Dawn?s music is built around strong dramatic melodies with classical female vocals. The appearance at HMH11 is very special in many ways. First of all, Amberian Dawn is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year. Secondly, it is very probable that we hear some new tracks in October as the new album will be coming out soon. It also has to be said that the previous appearance of Amberian Dawn in the Finnish soil happened several years ago. Fear of Domination is a shock-industrial band from Nurmijärvi. The band was founded in 2006 and is known especially for their strong stage appearance. Besides their natural stage charisma the band uses theatrical costumes and is sometimes even fooling around with UV-lights and pyrothecnics. FOD?s music is energetic and fresh - something that everyone can enjoy with good spirit. The band has recently announced a 7th member to join the group - Sara Strömmer - that has been seen on stage with the band also before. The latest FOD album ?Atlas? was released in 2016. Brymir is a epic/orchestral metal band from Helsinki. The band was founded in 2006 and has released two albums so far. ?Breathe Fire to the Sun? was released in 2011 and the latest album ?Slayer of Gods? in 2016. Both of the albums have received very good reviews and especially the later is said to crab the listener from the gut and make them a fan. Brymir is combining elements from several genres eventhough it might be fair to say that the band follows more the footsteps of folk and pagan metal with massive epic melodies. Needless to say, Brymir has a bright future ahead in Finland but also outside the Finnish borders.
Lost in Grey is a symphonic metal band from Hyvinkää. The inspiration for the music comes from both folk and symphonic metal but also from film soundtracks and the beautiful nature in Northern Finland. The band was founded year 2013 and have released one full-lenght album recently in March 2017. The album ?The Grey Realms? consists of three chapters and tells a complex, stage-play-like story about Lillian, a woman trying to escape the cruelty in the world and getting to a paradise-like place, The Grey Realms. The album has received good reviews and is surely just one step in the path of this amazing theatrical symphonic metal band of their way to fame.
Reflection Dies is a furious metalcore band from Helsinki known best for their charismatic stage presence and ass kicking sounds. RD is a combination of strong metalcore beats and groove sounds that walk beautifully hand in hand. The band is taking inspiration for their music from bands such as As I Lay Dying, In Flames and Caliban. It has to be mentioned that Reflection Dies is already a veteran in Heavy Metal Heart Festival. RD performed at HMH for the first time in 2014 and is now performing at the event for the 4th time. Reflection Dies is a must for everyone that wants to rise their adrenaline level and jump in the moshpit.
Crucify The Faith is a young metalcore band from Vantaa. The band was founded in 2014 but has already in a few years proved their talent and will to push forward. Crucify The Faith released their first EP ?New Breed? in February 2017. The band took part in the HMH10 band competition last year and arrived to the 2nd position. This year they will be opening the whole HMH11 event!
